Pre-cut foam set for refurbishing the internal air-control flaps inside the heater box.

After decades of movement and temperature changes, the original foam usually breaks down completely. This leaves the metal flap holes uncovered, allowing hot and cold air to pass through at the same time. A common result is lukewarm air from the vents regardless of the heater setting.

These self-adhesive foam pieces cover the flap holes again, helping the heater box separate the hot and cold air chambers as intended. This restores proper temperature control through the heater controls.

Available in two versions:

• Standard heater box: 3-piece set for cars without air conditioning
• Air-conditioning heater box: 4-piece set

For Volkswagen Golf MK2 and Jetta MK2 heater boxes.

Installation

The heater box must be removed and opened to access the internal flaps. Remove the remaining original foam and adhesive, clean the flap surfaces, and apply each pre-cut piece to the matching flap.

Installation takes time and is best carried out during a heater matrix replacement or complete heater box refurbishment.
